The Main line in '49
Around 1949 my uncle 'Duckie', fresh out of the service, made a trip from Boston to the northwest. He had a new camera took many pictures. Years later, knowing I liked trains, he gave me several pictures from the trip. Thus began my lifelong interest the Great Northern Railway.
There were no captions provided thus they are presented with captions I added. Since starting I have added quite a few slides and pictures obtained from the Internet and other sources to fill out this section. I have also now added a new section entitled Color Steam featuring pictures of unkown origin taken in the 40's and 50's.
