C-4#784

GN C-4 #784

The C-4 class were originally built as F-8 consolidations. They were rebuilt as switches in two groups.  The first seven were converted between 1928 and 1930.  The remaining four came in 1937.  Most were assigned to the Willmar Division but two went to the Dakota Division and one to the Spokane Division.  The class had 55" drivers, 210# boiler pressure and 57,350# tractive effort.

The model is an Oriental Limited import with a great custom paint job #784. It has a new can motor, torque arm and NWSL 36:1 gear box. She is smooth but slow runner, ideal for switching. I bought this model new and it has had limited running.

Original box and foam.
